Position Summary
The Director of Retail leads three regional management teams and cafes, which total over 80 team members and $6m in gross revenue. This position is responsible for all aspects of our growing Retail brand, providing active leadership support to our managers, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring an exceptional Specialty Coffee experience for our guests in high-volume Retail environments. A successful candidate will have a shared passion for our Mission, Vision and Core Values.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Reports to the Chief Development Officer, and collaborates with the Directors and Accounting teams. Support the Managers for each location in hiring, terminating, onboarding and internal training programs that promote professional development. Conduct annual reviews and bi-annual check-ins. Leadership, team building and management experience in Specialty Coffee, Food & Beverage and/or Hospitality required.
- Must demonstrate a high aptitude and genuine desire to effectively communicate our Mission and Values. This role will maintain a consistent brand experience throughout our Retail spaces, steward a strong team culture, and hold team members accountable to results with candid feedback. Inspire a positive team environment, lead by example with an openness and eagerness to learn and grow through challenges.
- Collaborate on strategic plans that achieve company objectives. Demonstrate outstanding performance by delivering team driven and financial results. Continually focus on driving sales and improving store profitability. Maintain exceptional standards for quality assurance, team performance and guest experience. Collaborate on Retail marketing campaigns.
- Complete administrative tasks such as but not limited to: lead regional meetings with an agenda and dashboard, manage budgets, maintain current permits and licensing, oversee facility maintenance and equipment service, assist in scheduling, ordering and inventory. Manage core Retail platforms such as Slack, Square, WheniWork, Google Drive, and maintain current store Operations binders.
- This is a physically demanding job where it is common to lift up to twenty-thirty pounds, and assist in moving equipment and furniture on a regular basis. It is frequently required to use a computer and complete spreadsheet tasks. It is expected to use constant and proficient means of communication such as observation, listening, talking, reading and writing.
- This position requires a flexible schedule to meet the needs of a growing regional Retail business, with an expectation to travel throughout Central Oregon weekly, and to Portland on a monthly basis.
