We\u2019re launching a new, independent day-to-night specialty caf\u00e9 that combines the best of third wave coffee with the rich coffee traditions of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. We\u2019re looking for a creative coffee leader to build our beverage identity from the ground up\u2014menu, sourcing, training, and in-cafe experience. You will be a partner and co-founder of this business.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Menu & Beverage Development Design a coffee menu that includes a core offering of third wave coffee drinks. Also develop menu items from different coffee traditions and translating them into an offering that feels intentional and accessible. You’ll develop seasonal specials, signature drinks, and a full non-coffee menu as well. Will start with third-party sourcing for baked goods with a possibility of expanding into an in-house food menu.<\/p>\n
Sourcing & Supplier Relationships Build and maintain direct relationships with coffee importers, roasting partners and food vendors for baked goods. You understand the supply chain well enough to ask the right questions and own purchasing decisions. As we grow, you’ll help shape our longer-term sourcing strategy.<\/p>\n
Training & Team Development You’ll hire, train and lead staff. You’ll develop training materials, set standards, and foster a culture where curiosity and hospitality go hand in hand.<\/p>\n
Bar Design & Operations Input Contribute to the physical design and workflow of our caf\u00e9 bar including equipment selection, layout, grinder and machine specs, workflow sequencing.<\/p>\n
R&D (Current & Future) Lead ongoing experimentation with brew methods, flavor profiles, and service formats. As the business matures, this will expand into ready-to-drink product development and potentially in-house roasting \u2014 areas you’ll have the opportunity to grow into and help lead.<\/p>\n
