\nRancilio is embarking on a new era with its forthcoming, high-end line of espresso machines, Rancilio Specialty. This line of machines is designed to engage with the demanding environment of a quality-focused coffee bar by joining workhorse reliability with advanced control and a timeless aesthetic. Our North American headquarters just outside of Chicago is looking for a Technical Specialist to support this new line along with our current offerings.<\/p>\n
Overview
\nTechnical Specialists are the backbone of espresso and technical knowledge for our North American operations. This position will provide training, consulting and support to our customers pertaining to espresso equipment operation and service. Working closely with Coffee Specialists and our national sales team, Technical Specialists aid in identifying and troubleshooting technical issues both virtually and physically.<\/p>\n
Essential functions
\n * Identify underlying problems and root causes of espresso equipment while providing excellent customer service.
\n * Utilize an advanced understanding of electrical and hydraulic components to identify issues.
\n * Multitask by examining schematics\/parts diagrams while walking technicians through problem solving and entering case notes.
\n * Utilize an understanding of espresso fundamentals to consult technicians on proper preparation and extraction.
\n * Follow proper case protocol and effectively utilize proper communication channels.
\n * Perform tasks utilizing a high level of skill using hand tools .
\n * Lend experience to strengthen and shape our technical team\u2019s knowledge and response to technical related issues.
\n * Train individuals in service, installation, and usage of espresso equipment.
\n * Some travel may be required.<\/p>\n
Requirements
\n * High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor\u2019s Degree preferred
\n * Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
\n * Theoretical understanding of electricity and hydraulics
\n * Ability to interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, schematics and parts breakdowns
\n * Basic understanding of coffee fundamentals, experience is a plus
\n * Technically minded
\n * Must be organized and able to balance short term and long-term projects
\n * Ability to operate a computer and learn software; must be able to type proficiently
\n * Experience in a technical support role is preferred<\/p>\n
