We care about the details that customers feel but rarely see \u2014 and the person who roasts our coffee is at the center of that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\nThe Role<br \/>\nWe&#8217;re hiring an experienced Lead Roaster to captain our roasting program. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who has logged real time behind a production roaster and is ready to run it all: dialing in profiles, sourcing green, holding the quality bar, and getting finished coffee out the door.<br \/>\nYou won&#8217;t be out here alone \u2014 you&#8217;ll have a leadership team behind you that invests in the coffee, the equipment, and the people who make it matter. But the roasting program is yours to run. You set the profiles, you hold the measure for excellence, you decide what Fleet tastes like.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\nThis is the right role for a roaster ready to lead, not just execute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\nWhat You&#8217;ll Do<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Production roasting\u00a0\u2014 Plan and execute the weekly roast schedule to meet caf\u00e9 and wholesale demand, maintaining consistency batch to batch and roaster log discipline (Cropster\/Artisan or similar).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Quality control &amp; profile development\u00a0\u2014 Lead cupping and QC, develop and refine roast profiles for new and seasonal coffees, and troubleshoot when something tastes off.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Green sourcing &amp; inventory\u00a0\u2014 Manage green coffee buying, vendor and importer relationships, contracts, and inventory so we&#8217;re never short and never sitting on stale stock.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Packaging &amp; fulfillment\u00a0\u2014 Oversee packaging, labeling, and order fulfillment for retail bags and wholesale accounts, keeping freshness and accuracy tight.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Wholesale &amp; caf\u00e9 support\u00a0\u2014 Partner with our caf\u00e9s and wholesale customers on dial-ins, feedback, and the occasional training or account visit.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Equipment &amp; safety\u00a0\u2014 Keep the roaster and supporting equipment maintained, clean, and running safely, and keep the roastery organized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">What We&#8217;re Looking For<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Several years of hands-on production roasting experience, ideally including profile development from scratch.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Strong sensory skills and a structured approach to cupping and QC.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Working knowledge of green coffee \u2014 grades, origins, contracts, and how to manage inventory and freshness.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Comfort owning a process: someone organized, self-directed, and accountable for output and quality.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Experience on a Loring (or comparable air-roaster) a strong plus \u2014 we roast on a Loring S15 Falcon.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Familiarity with roast-logging software (Cropster, Artisan, or similar).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Q-Grader certification a plus.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Ability to lift 60+ lbs repeatedly and work on your feet in a warehouse\/roastery environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">Why Fleet<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Your craft, your call.\u00a0You&#8217;ll build the entire roasting program \u2014 profiles, green selection, quality standards \u2014 from the inside out.
