You&#8217;ll be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting while building the systems, controls, and reporting that allow our teams to better understand and manage the business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\">Experience in restaurants, food and beverage, hospitality, or another multi-unit environment is especially valuable. Our business involves inventory, cost of goods sold, labor, location-level performance, fixed assets, cash reconciliation, and the wonderfully complicated financial reality of operating multiple locations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\">What You&#8217;ll Do<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\">Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and preparation of financial statements<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Prepare, review, and analyze financial results for accuracy, completeness, and meaningful trends<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Develop financial reporting and analysis at both the company and individual location level<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Identify variances, risks, and opportunities and translate financial data into clear, actionable information for leadership<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Manage cash flow reporting and forecasting and provide visibility into anticipated cash needs and financial obligations<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Oversee accounting for inventory, cost of goods sold, labor, fixed assets, and other areas specific to a multi-unit food and beverage business<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including approvals, collections, processes, and financial controls<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations across bank accounts, credit cards, debt, fixed assets, inventory, and other key accounts<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Partner with operational leaders on budgets, spending, forecasting, and financial performance<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Build and continually improve accounting processes, procedures, systems, and internal controls<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Manage applicable sales and transaction privilege tax filings and other accounting-related regulatory requirements<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Oversee required business licenses, regulatory filings, and insurance administration across company operations<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Lead and develop members of the accounting team, establishing clear responsibilities, deadlines, processes, and expectations<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\">Support special projects and financial analysis as the needs of the business evolve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">What We&#8217;re Looking For<\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\">Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li8\">5+ years of accounting or related experience<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, financial reporting, and internal controls<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn complex information into useful insights<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Experience working with financial and operational KPIs, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial leaders<\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\">Strong computer and software skills; experience with QuickBooks and Excel is important, and familiarity with Paylocity and Asana is a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p7\">Especially Great If You Have<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\">Experience in a restaurant, coffee, food and beverage, hospitality, retail, or other multi-unit organization where you&#8217;ve worked directly with inventory, COGS, labor, sales reconciliation, and location-level financial performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\">About Cartel<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\">Cartel Roasting Co. is an Arizona-born specialty coffee company with caf\u00e9s and operations across multiple markets.
