  1. <\/b>PURPOSE OF ROLE<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Roastery Assistant supports both Production and Roasting to ensure all coffee is roasted, packed, delivered, and shipped accurately and efficiently. This role contributes directly to product quality, operational flow, and consistent customer experience across B2B, D2C, and internal caf\u00e9 channels. The Roastery Assistant is an ambassador of the brand and is expected to uphold company values; Fun, Innovation, Relationships, Education (FIRE) while maintaining a safe, inclusive, productive workplace.<\/p>\n

    1. <\/b>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Operations & Production<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. \n
          \n
        • Assist with roasting preparation and post-roast workflows.<\/li>\n
        • Green coffee batching and support for roast scheduling.<\/li>\n
        • Operate coffee roasting equipment per Proud Mary Coffee\u2019s guidelines.<\/li>\n
        • Pack, weigh, heat-seal, label, and prepare coffee to spec.<\/li>\n
        • Operate packing and bagging equipment safely and accurately.<\/li>\n
        • Complete wholesale, retail, caf\u00e9, and online orders.<\/li>\n
        • Deliver coffee locally and manage professional customer interactions.<\/li>\n
        • Communicate customer feedback to appropriate channels promptly.<\/li>\n
        • Manage shipping workflows and order dispatch (Shopify\/UL\/OM or equivalent).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Quality & Consistency<\/p>\n

            • Maintain consistency in roasting, labelling, stamping, stickers, and packaging.<\/li>\n
            • Conduct weigh checks, calibration tasks, and follow QC procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              \u2022 <\/span>Support cupping, basic sensory checks, and product knowledge development.<\/p>\n

              • Ensure all orders reflect expected quality and \u201cunboxing experience.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Maintenance & Cleanliness<\/p>\n

                  • Maintain roastery cleanliness and follow open\/close routines.<\/li>\n
                  • Perform equipment care, cleaning, and routine checks (roaster, grinders, baggers, etc.).<\/li>\n
                  • Assist with heavy machinery and vehicle maintenance, including regular van cleaning.<\/li>\n
                  • Follow all safety procedures and report hazards promptly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Logistics & Inventory<\/p>\n

                      • Support stock management of roasted coffee, green coffee, packaging, and consumables.<\/li>\n
                      • Organize production space, roasted coffee storage, stock rotation, and workflow efficiency.<\/li>\n
                      • Participate in inventory counts, reserve counts, and data entry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        Admin & Systems<\/p>\n

                          • Use UL, Cropster, Trello, Teams, Excel, HubSpot and other platforms as required.<\/li>\n
                          • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                  1. <\/b>Preferred Experience<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                                      \n

                                      • Experience in coffee production, roasting, warehousing, or manufacturing.<\/li>\n
                                      • Basic understanding of cupping, roast profiling, green coffee, or specialty coffee processes (training provided).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
