Joe Coffee Cafe Leads are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and dedicated coffee professionals serving to support general business operations, staff development and coffee quality. They do this not only through assisting the General Manager with operational tasks and initiatives but the Cafe Leads also helps to ensure execution of Joe quality standards for all offerings as well as hospitality. This is achieved through data collection in conjunction with the QC team, routine equipment maintenance and staff coaching.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Operations
\n\u2022 Day-to-day store operations including inventory management, banking and cash handling
\n\u2022 Develop understanding of caf\u00e9 operating and finance goals to aid in achieving targets
\n\u2022 Staff training – Conduct new hire training and provide continued development after bar training.
\n\u2022 Ensure robust coffee environment in caf\u00e9 through instock retail displays, actively coaching staff on offering to customer
\n\u2022 Perform GM duties when the GM is away\/unavailable (communicate with HQ, handle employee issues, report on store concerns, etc.)
\n\u2022 Coffee Education\/Quality Control
\n\u2022 Ensure brewed coffee is always served fresh and at Joe Coffee standards
\n\u2022 Dial in all brewed coffee
\n\u2022 Manage coffee inventory, ensuring coffee is brewed with proper time off roast
\n\u2022 Maintain tasting logs for both drip coffee and espresso
\n\u2022 Maintain beverage recipes and grind guides
\n\u2022 Ensure staff understands and can talk to customers about the coffee and espresso we serve and sell
\n\u2022 Provide staff with information about new coffees and coffee menu changes, and conduct in-store tasting with staff for all new coffees
\n\u2022 Train and continually coach staff on topics including, but not limited to Bar flow, efficiency & Cleanliness, \u2022 Palate development, Overall drink service (hospitality, presentation, latte art)
\n\u2022 Coffee Equipment Maintenance
\n\u2022 Ensure all brewing equipment is maintained anc cleaned by Joe Coffee standards
\n\u2022 Record all cleanings, maintenance and issues in the store’s Google spreadsheet
\n\u2022 Communicate directly with Coffee Technician for urgent issues<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications
\n\u2022 Relevant skills, knowledge & ability
\n\u2022 Be Passionate and knowledgeable about speciality coffee
\n\u2022 Strong barista with excellent espresso\/drink making skills
\n\u2022 Service Experience – Adhere to recipes and presentations for food and beverage items
\n\u2022 Great Customer Service (Hospitality focused)
\n\u2022 Be able to lead and educate caf\u00e9 staff
\n\u2022 Able to Multi-task; Experienced and comfortable with working busy shifts
\n\u2022 Detailed-oriented and passionate about product quality
\n\u2022 Tidy and self-disciplined
\n\u2022 Food Protection License<\/p>\n
